Once you’ve got Layar, you’ll need install the irkafirka layer. Simply use the search function from inside Layar. It’s easy. And best of all, all of this goodness is completely free.

Now you’re ready to go and hunt some wilde irkafirks. The irkafirks are smeared liberally across the UK, but we’ve put together some incredibly useful (and, let’s be honest, easy) clues to help you find them. You’ll have to go out into the big, scary, drab, grey world to find them, but the technicolour spectacle will be more than make your journey worthwhile. Unless you’re really hard to impress.

When you find a wild irkafirk, first spend some time marvelling at the sheer wonder of finding a brightly coloured, thirty metre high picture hanging in this nation’s grey and gloomy streets. Tarry a while over the vivid ridiculousness of the original tweet. Stand and admire the bold pencil work. Wonder at the millions upon millions of pounds of investment in technology devoted solely to bringing this moment to you. Then, once you’ve recovered from your reveries, tweet out a message to let all your friends know how clever you are, that you’ve found a great, glorious reason for living, then take a screenshot.
